Loch Lomond is 23 miles long and is the largest inland
waterway in Great Britain. The area has been designated Scotland's
first national park, which is a fitting accolade to one of
the most beautiful and romantic places in the world. The loch
separates the highlands and the lowlands, which creates the
most amazing scenery with rounded hills on one side to rugged
mountains on the other side. The loch gets used for many activities

Locally
there are lots of small towns and villages such as Balloch,
Tarbet, Luss, Crianlarich, Arrochar and Helensburgh. They all

Glasgow is 30 minutes from Auchenheglish
Lodges and is the largest city in Scotland. Known as the second
city of the empire it has a great history and character. Having
recently won the City of Culture award there are lots of art
galleries and museums. For the more adventurous there is the
nightlife with Glasgow having many trendy and traditional
nightclubs and pubs. If you enjoy shopping then this is the
place to go with plenty of shopping centers and lots of different
shops for everyone.
Boating
Loch Lomond has always had a tradition of boating, the Loch
has been used by people wanting to enjoy the area from the
water, for many years.
Walking/Climbing/Cycling
There are walks and cycle paths along the lochside and numerous
hill and forest walks in the surrounding area with climbing
for the more adventurous close at hand.
Fishing
The fishing is one of the best in Scotland, with Loch Lomond
containing salmon, sea trout, brown trout and is legendary
for it's pike, being one of Scotland's premier pike waters.

Eating Out & Entertainment
Within a short walk there is a choice of five restaurants/bars.
The Cruin bar/restaurant is a five-minute walk and overlooks
the loch to Ben Lomond. The famous Cameron House Hotel (five
star) offers various restaurants, bars and lounges it also
provides facilities such as shooting, fishing, quad-biking,
water sports, massage and beauty therapy.
A short taxi ride or a 30-minute walk along
the lochside is the nearby town of Balloch where you will
find various bars and restaurants.
